Although many people tend to use the word "stress" and "anxiety" interchangeably, are actually two different conditions. Stress is a reaction to a stimulus, which may be internal or external. You may experience stress when they are frustrated by something (like queuing up behind a slow person) or when you are worried about failing to meet expectations (such as lack of a deadline at work).
Anxiety, by contrast, is a feeling of fear or nervousness and fear. It can be caused by negative thoughts and expectations, or response to stress. You may feel anxious almost all the time and I do not know why, or their feelings may be a response to something he is nervous, like a forthcoming review.
Abnormal levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain can cause widespread anxiety. Some studies suggest that anxiety can be hereditary.
