Ok, I’ve searched this site as well as many others for answers and I’m seeing a lot of people confusing Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with Obsessive Compulsive PERSONALITY Disorder. Let me explain the differences so someone might be able to better answer my question. First, OCD is the NEED to do something a certain number of times. An example would be David Beckham feeling the need to have everything in his apartment be in pairs. Now, OCPD (personality disorder) is a personality disorder where one feels they must have things their way, or it isn’t correct. An example would be a mom demanding a child place every toy in his/her room in an exact location, in an exact position or else the room isn’t “clean.” This is not simply placing a stuffed toy on the bed, but having said toy positioned EXACTLY as the parent wishes. Now, I think I might honestly have this disorder (to an extent). Others around me have also mentioned that this is “me.” So, how exactly does one get over a personality disorder? I actually don’t have problems making friends, or getting along with others at work, but I do feel like I honestly am “anal” about a lot of things. How are personality disorders treated?

I really have no idea about things like this. But, you seem perfectly fun, funny, and smart as hell to me.

Are you functioning in everyday life? If so, it doesn’t really need fixing… this “disorder” is probably just a personality quirk of yours. If it’s a huge problem, you’ll probably wanna see behavioral therapist. Medication doesn’t really help with this type of psychological problem.
